Manpower is partnering with our client, Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions, in the search for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their engineering team in Zagreb.About the roleAs an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing complete electrical power systems for modular data centers and other critical infrastructure projects.This is more than a traditional electrical design role. You will work across the complete power distribution system — from medium-voltage incoming power through transformers and low-voltage distribution to the final consumers.You will work on international projects across the EMEA region, supporting some of the world's leading technology and data center companies.
Description
- Develop conceptual, basic and detailed electrical designs
- Design and specify MV and LV electrical systems and equipment
- Select and specify equipment including:
- MV switchgear
- Transformers
- LV switchboards
- UPS systems and batteries
- Cables and busbars
- Panelboards and related equipment
- Prepare technical documentation, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, load calculations, cable sizing, short-circuit calculations and protection/selectivity studies
- Use engineering tools such as ETAP, DIgSILENT, EPLAN, AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications
- Support electrical equipment selection and procurement
- Review MV/LV switchgear and wiring diagrams
- Work with MV protection concepts and philosophies
- Coordinate with mechanical, architectural and other engineering disciplines
- Cooperate with manufacturers, suppliers, production and installation teams
- Provide engineering support during manufacturing and project execution
- Participate in technical meetings and, when required, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and international project activities
Requirements
- University degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably Power Systems/Electrical Power Engineering
- Professional experience in electrical power system design
- Good understanding of MV and LV electrical systems
- Experience with electrical equipment selection and technical specifications
- Experience preparing electrical calculations and technical documentation
- Ability to read and understand electrical and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of relevant LV and MV electrical standards
- Experience with one or more of the following tools is an advantage:
- ETAP / DIgSILENT
- EPLAN
- AutoCAD
- Autodesk Revit
- ABB DOC
- Siemens SIMARIS
- Schneider Ecodial
- Knowledge of MV protection systems is an advantage
- Experience with BIM and 3D electrical design is a plus
- Good command of English
